April 7th, 2010 Cache Thief Goes to Court Event
« on: March 20, 2010, 10:15:53 »
This is an unofficial event (no smily) but there are a few caches in/around town for folks to get.   I tried to get this posted on GC but Good Old NY Admin refused.

This event is from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM, April 7th, 2010.

NO need to bring the Paint Balls, the Tomahawks, Spears or any other pointy objects as this is just a get together to celebrate the Cache Thief or Cache Maggot Going to Court.

Great way to go into work late!!!!!   (You don't have to stay for the full 2.5 hours)

Here are the posted coords:  N43.12.767       W075.27.339

Post here if planning to come.

No smiley, common.  I/we would love nothing more then to get to the court house to help in any way we can.  But neither of us can make it.

I read the other post and after some thought decided to write a letter explaining why Geocaching is good for the community.  Exercise, seeing parks in the area, local economy, CITO and stuff like that.  I believe if you are a Cacher in CNY you should write a letter at the very least and send it to the DA's office.  Yes presence in court would be powerful as well.  We have no idea what the outcome is going to be but if we get enough information in the hands of the DA then he/she might be more prone to push harder for Geocaching.

We got out to Rome yesterday and were actually able to find caches, 10 of them.  It was such a nice expierence we will do it again.

If anyone wants the letter let me know I will email it or post it.
