Have a couple of ?'s.

What time do you want to start and where to meet?

Is this a go rain or shine?

Thanks.

9:00am we meet at the cache parking coordinates.  Latecomers can meet us up at the cache coordinates.

It will be a go rain or shine (torrential misery-inducing downpour excepted).  Please dress for the weather.

Speaking of dressing:

Shoes and hair:
Wear shoes appropriate for hiking over uneven and rocky terrain.  Hiking boots are probably a good idea.  Sneakers are passable.  Flip-flops are right out.
If you have long hair, it must be tied back in a pony tail or braid and preferably under a hat.

I use a customized rope setup that I developed over the years to be newbie-friendly and very safe.  It is automatically hands-free safe, is redundant and easy to use.  It does place the rappel device up high in front of the face instead of the more traditional at the waist placement.  This means that there is a small chance that long hair which is not tied back could become entangled in the rappel device.  If that happens to you, I am giving you a free haircut right then and there.  I am not a skilled barber so you do not want a haircut from me!

Clothes:  Like I said, dress for the weather.  You are going to be outside for hours.  If it is warmer than expected, ditch the jacket before you switch to short-shorts.  No kilts.

:)

gee Novac, I figured you'd be commenting about the kilts.

Despite my name, I'm Irish, not Scottish!

Kilts were worn in Ireland, and many other Celtic areas, including Wales and even north western Spain, where "C' is from

Somehow I am not counting 17 people for Sat.  be1 and his daughter, get funky, silly me 3, jeepcacher82, fishhook1 and a group of 4, Novac and sons. . . I guess there are a bunch who have contacted BWT via e-mail.  If there are less, I'd like to join in.  I have to bring S to set construction at 10 so I couldn't get there till 11.  I guess I'll call first to see if anyone has dropped out.

Have fun guys.  Wish I could go try this but I have to work all weekend.  Maybe I can try when the weather gets warmer and I'm not working. (Syracuse represented here. :) )

Wish I knew about this sight last fall, my GF cache partner and I really want to try this if or when it ever happens again.  I just found this sight yesterday thanks to Bullseye

If you go to the cache page, and e-mail BWT directly, you can figure out a date that would work, and round up some more people. It's definitely worth going.

I couldn't make it to the last two trips. I'd like to get to this one too. BWT will have more outings, it's just a matter of getting everyone together.

Thanks L. I will check this out and see what will wok for him
go from there.  I've repelled twice with an ROTC group years ago
and am looking forward to doing it again. This time with better gear
Each individual had to "construct" their own setup. Meaning our harnesses were nothing more
than doubled rope wrapped around us for the harness and used our own body weight
for the friction brake. All in all it was still a rush
