EVENT 10/17/09: Letchworth Fall Gathering VIII (WNY)

This event is at Letchworth State Park in western NY, but I'm posting this here because a number of CNY cachers make the trip out each year.

Letchworth Fall Gathering VIII
Saturday, October 17, 2009, 7 am - 8 pm

Here is the schedule according to the event page:
  • Park Opens: 6am
  • Breakfast Served: 7am
  • Lunch Served: 12 noon
  • Raffle Drawing Begins: 1pm
  • Group Picture Taken: 1:30pm
  • Dinner Served: 6pm
  • Event Ends: 8pm
  • Park Closes: 10pm

I've been going to this every year since 2004.  It's lots of fun.  The last year there was an event on Friday & Sunday so there was a total of 3 events from all the caches!  I've noticed that This year they are serving dinner in the park which is something new.

Yeah, super-cool.

Now last year I tried to do some park caches but realized that many of them were not accessible from the camping loop area! I've got to figure out a way to reach those more efficiently this year.

THanks for putting this on the list, Novac.  I haven't gotten that far in my planning, but it's starting to get picked up by my radar!

I've actually seen the ASP geobash info already.  This time I won't make the mistake of putting it on my watch list - messages kept coming in at all hours, day and night!

Since camping is very limited at Letchworth, look at Osage for an option if you are staying.  It is Friday night and very close to the Letchworth event.   Caching does not get any better than at Osage.   See the posted Osage pre-event if interested.

There is another, smaller and possibly closer event on the 17th called An Apple a Day. . .GC1Z3YW.  Knowing the kids are home with the car, I think I will opt to go here!
