As I mentioned briefly at the last event, I'm planning an event for January 1 (which is also a Saturday this year).

Obviously we want some place that is indoors and heated. Power outlets are good too as we may do a potluck/bring-a-dish thing and I've heard that some people own these things called "crock pots". Does anyone have any ideas on where we could hold an event like that? Oh yes, and I forgot to mention that I'm cheap and poor and don't want to charge people for attending, so $50 and under for a rental fee is ideal.

Because of it being a holiday, places like libraries will probably be out of the question. Since it's both a holiday AND a Saturday, I want to get a place reserved soon. I know places are already booking up.

I would be ok with chipping in a few bucks for a place. What about an area VFW or something like that, where they would have a small banquet hall. Or maybe the community room at the new Fleet Feet store. I could check with a friend who works there to see if they rent it out.
