I know that GC rolled this out and then rolled it back up earlier in the year, but I don't know when they re-released GPX 1.0.1 files again. Basically we are used to dealing with GPX 1.0 files, but the extra .1 adds attributes. That means that the files include useful attributes like winter-accessible (or not), kid-friendly, poison plants, etc.
Keep in mind that the attributes are only as good as the CO made them, so they should be taken with a grain of salt -- Just think about that last 1.5 terrain cache that had you hiking 3 miles up and down giant hills and through pricker bushes
WARNING: By default, your account was left at the old-style GPX file standard setting. In order to change it, follow these steps:- Go to the Your Account Details page.
- Scroll all the way down to the "Your Preferences" section and click Change
- Under "GPX Version Preference", select 1.0.1 and click Save
- Confirm that Your Account Details now displays 1.0.1 (and NOT 1.0).
Thanks to GSAK for the nice and easy instructions. I didn't copy them exactly, but that's where I got the steps from.
