Finger Lakes National Forrest
« on: June 07, 2011, 20:50:56 »
Hello again all. We are staying at Sampson SP for a week. 6/17-24.  After grabbing the 4 caches I have left to get there I want to wander in the Forrest a couple days. Any one have recommendations or favorite trails to hike?  Thanks in advance  ;D SF7

Actually there are roads/seasonal trails all around there.  Caching is very good.  You can hop scotch around and pick the trails to walk/bike down.  Have done both walking and biking.  BUT!! take spray and check for ticks!!  Enjoy!   Also caching in Trumansburg and area is very good also!  ( Rain back up plan)
It is what it is!

Here is a link to the first one I found. I did enjoy my day out in the Forrest. Our back up rain day plan was to go wine tasting. Witch we did Wednesday on Cayuga Lake   ;D

Awesome. What did you do, just have everyone sit in the trunk? :)

I like the fact that in the second angle, you can see that you're right next to the road. Reverse works great for those situations :)

I thought I was screwed but before I even got out some one stopped to see if I was OK. he didnt have a chain.I put it in 4 wheel low but just the front tire was splashing mud all over.  Then less than 5 min later another guy stopped and he had a tow strap got my rear end back down and Im out like that!  Now I have a tow strap in my vehicle. The expression on Mrs's SF7s face when I showed her the pics on my phone was priceless

Thanks for posting the log link with photos SF7. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, glad you had a camera on hand. It's a good thing you had a vehicle that can handle a little "tough" terrain!   :o
