Premium membership auto renewal

I got a note from PayPal today that my premium membership with Groundspeak had been canceled and if I had any questions, I should contact Groundspeak directly.  I thought it was odd and I checked and couldn't come up with any reason why this would happen.  The weird thing is that I have a credit card listed for automatic renewal of my membership.  Did this happen to anyone else?

No but you might want to call GS to see if your payment is fine.   Might be a scam from PayPal.   Did the note say Dear Lisa or no name at all?   If it was Dear Lisa it came from Paypal if no name was mentioned don't respond to it.  It's a scam looking for your account number!!!!

It didn't say to reply to PayPal.  I went onto geocaching.com and updated my cc info. . . so paypal shouldn't be involved. The only idea I came up with is that maybe the cc that PayPal has attached has expired or something. . . I don't know. Anyway, my account still exists with geocaching.com, and that's all the really matters. (that and not being charged extra or having $ stolen from my account. .  .

When is your membership renewal date? Did you hear back from GS? I'd doubt that it was a scam but something doesn't sound right. I'll bet that, in the end, it will all make perfect sense :)

 My renewal isn't till June.  All I can think is that when I first signed up it must have been through PayPal and the CC linked to that account must have expired, but really that doesn't make any sense.  PayPal would just ask me to update my info. My status still shows as premium, so I'm not going to worry about it.  As long as I can log my new Ithaca finds this weekend (a few are premium caches) then all's well.
