New Supplier of Caching supplies
« on: May 24, 2011, 21:01:45 »
While at ASP this past weekend there was a new tent set up selling Geocaching items. Some of these items were really well done and cutting edge stuff. They have an entirely differant line of products than fellow cacher C-Fire and should not interfere with his Geo-Store.

http://www.gxproxy.com/

They have a whole new way of night cache tags. Way better than firetacks, more reflective and have arrows to show direction. They have dog tag type tags that can be stamped, or wrote on for multi cache cords. Small and descrete. Much better than washers or the like. They make proxy coins so if you have a coin or TB that is missing, or you want to release a proxy rather than the real one, it can be done. If you have a missing TB, you can get a proxy tag with the number and re-send it on it's mission. (All items are Groundspeak approved)
The owner is Fox and Hound from PA with his mom (Frozen Buns). They are also heavy into coin design.
I am going to do a night hide at Cache-Bash and will be using the new tags if anyone wants to see them in action.
So just an FYI for anyone looking for another outlet of supplies.

That would be the 4-H Camp Cache Bash V - GC2R9P4
 There's also a Pre-Bash - GC2R9PE

Hi everyone,
I'm c-fire and I have lots of geocaching stuff that I sell. I've been primarily selling to the Rochester folks and have done ASP for several years. I have ammo cans of various sizes (30 cal, 50 cal, and 40mm) I camo paint them affix a laminated stash note to the inside lid, and stenciled on the side is GEOCACHE or sometimes OFFICIAL GEOCACHE. I sell them locally for $8 each and $10 at events where I have significant travel. (If you want to see a picture, do a search on e-bay for ammo cans-geocache and/or my seller name on ebay is c_fire) I do custom cans as well-such as golden ammo's which I stencil the honorees name on the can-those go for $10. I also have a bunch of Lock-N-Locks camo painted, bison tubes, beach tubes, and other assorted items (such as log rollers to roll up those micro logs, mosquito netting for pup tents which are great to hide cans in the woods-just throw the netting over the can, then toss some leaves and twigs on top of the netting.
I heard through the grapevine that some people in your area are looking for ammo cans. I have lots of painting to do between now and ASP. If there's enough interest, I can make a road trip to Syracuse this summer (perhaps tied in with an event such as an ice cream social :-), but it'll have to wait until after ASP. Talk with each other and let me know if your interested in a visit.
Thanks,
C-fire

I heard that C-Fire has camo tape too.  I am going to Rochester tomorrow. . . I should have gotten my act together before that, but since M goes to college there, I will be back!

Sorry, I actually removed camo tape from my store. It has taken several years just to sell the few cases (18 rolls total) I had bought. I also noticed that Walmart sells it occasionally (hunting season, I think) and when they do, they were slightly cheaper than what I could sell it for. If you are really interested in getting some, let me know and I'll put you in contact with the company I got them from. They're out of Rochester (Henrietta) so I picked them up and saved on shipping costs. You have to buy a minimum of 2 cases (12rolls) and there's a handling fee (but the fee is fixed, if you buy more cases the price per case decreases). They have traditional camo and digital camo. At least that's my experience from a few years ago.

Don't worry. . . I have no desire to buy or own or need to store 2 cases of camo tape! Thanks for letting me know.
