I still think about Coterm59 quite often, as we started Geocaching for the same reason - exercise.  When I decided a little over a year ago to make a new walking stick, I purposely got the wood nearto a cache of his.  It makes me feel like he's still out there chasing these caches down!  Cheesy

I started geocaching a few months after Coterm59 passed away, so unfortunately I never had the chance to meet him. Even after a year of caching (and 400 finds), when I look to see whose caches I have found the most, Coterm59 still comes in at 2nd place! Coterm59 continues to give back to the geocaching community: Of his 103 caches, 57 are still active today!

Chuck (Coterm59) was an extraordinary person. We met him couple times while looking for a cache; with him were always few of his (foster) kids... His profile on GC.com tells also something about him.
Rest in peace, Chuck!

Hi All,

Not sure if y'all are still monitoring this thread. I tried to contact Groundspeak, after just learning of Chuck's passing, to transfer ownership of a particular cache/TB hotel in need of maintenance (K is for Kansas TB Hotel). It seems that nobody is monitoring this cache on-line and I don't know if he has family involved in Geocaching. Groundspeak has a guideline of contacting the family for permission to transfer. Since I didn't know Chuck, I have no idea how to go about this, nor do I want to step on any toes or seem insensitive. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Rick (Greytfun)

Contact Dewski regarding any of coterm's caches that need maintenance. He and some others are doing their best to keep as many of his caches active as possible.

I had the pleasure of being at an event cache and was Coterm's partner in the event, I had the time of my life that day, he'll be missed.
