« on: July 22, 2009, 10:57:56 »
I will try to post a message here whenever I update the TB Race 2050 website...particularly for updates in Standings when one TB might pass another.  8)

No update today, though I would like to mention that btie has added a Racer to the race!

We are now just over a month into the race! More than half of the TBs have begun their journey, while 6 of the 14 racers are still hanging out at the Hopkin's TB Hotel. I will do my best to make sure that TBs do not remain at the Hopkin's TB Hotel for much longer.

Here are the standings. Note that there are ties for first, eighth, and thirteenth place. (Ties are simply placed alphabetically by TB name.)
  • 2723 TBR2050 Happy Cat
  • 2723 The Boogie Man (TBR2050)
  • 385 TBR2050 Blue Man Yo
  • 299 LUCKY SEVEN TBR2050
  • 290 Windborne's Nissan GT-R (TBR2050)
  • 289 Going Nuts (TBR2050)
  • 203 mandmsyr's racing lizard TBR2050
  • 183 Glow in the Dark Non-Working Light TBR2050
  • 183 Hot Tiger TBR2050
  • 183 Lisa's Little Purple T-shirt TBR2050
  • 183 speed or not racer tbr2050
  • 183 The DogTBR2050
  • 178 bullseye1's Silver Bullet (TBR2050)
  • 178 TBR2050 Dreams Do Come True

I would like to get a map going. If/when I do, I will post it here. I will update the TB Race page soon.

9/14 Update
« Reply #3 on: September 14, 2009, 12:33:45 »
Here are the current standings as of 9/14/09. "Dreams Do Come True" has made a big jump from last to fourth. No need to worry, though. As we have seen, one jump to the west coast gets you thousands of points, so it's still easily anyone's game!
  • 3114 TBR2050 Happy Cat
  • 2730 The Boogie Man (TBR2050)
  • 551 TBR2050 Blue Man Yo
  • 433 TBR2050 Dreams Do Come True
  • 299 LUCKY SEVEN TBR2050
  • 287 Windborne's Nissan GT-R (TBR2050)
  • 286 Going Nuts (TBR2050)
  • 244 bullseye1's Silver Bullet (TBR2050)
  • 200 mandmsyr's racing lizard TBR2050
  • 180 Glow in the Dark Non-Working Light TBR2050

  • 180 Lisa's Little Purple T-shirt TBR2050

Here are the current standings as of 9/27/09. There were a few shifts since the last update as all the TBs have now made it out of the starting point and have moved on. We have only one tie remaining, as speed or not racer and The Dog have both moved to separate caches the same distance away. That said, there may be some big point shifts next time because many of the TBs were picked up since the last update but have not yet been placed.

I did not update the standings this week, but I did add pretty little pictures that show each racer's default picture, mileage, and current location.
http://geocachingcny.com/tbrace2050/index.htm#leaderboard
That is why I made it mandatory to have a default picture for your racers :)

I am contemplating the best way to integrate these into the standings.

11/5 Update
« Reply #6 on: November 05, 2009, 13:24:22 »
Here are the current standings as of 11/5/09. The Boogie Man and Happy Cat swapped the number 1 & 2 positions after The Boogie Man became the first TB to reach the state of Arizona. mandmsyr's racing lizard made a huge jump this month, jumping up 10 spots to 3rd after being placed in two travel bug hotels. Hot Tiger jumped from last to the middle after making a couple moves. The rest of the racers are within 3 spots of where they were last month.

Also, I noticed that the points were inaccurate as I had applied 50 points to the Start Your Engines event, so I changed it to 75 points like it should be. This really only affected LUCKY SEVEN because it is the only one that did not visit the event.

  • 3962 The Boogie Man (TBR2050)
  • 3208 TBR2050 Happy Cat
  • 626 mandmsyr's racing lizard TBR2050
  • 576 TBR2050 Blue Man Yo
  • 458 TBR2050 Dreams Do Come True
  • 398 Going Nuts (TBR2050)
  • 382 Hot Tiger TBR2050
  • 370 LUCKY SEVEN TBR2050
  • 367 Windborne's Nissan GT-R (TBR2050)
  • 345 Glow in the Dark Non-Working Light TBR2050
  • 324 Lisa's Little Purple T-shirt TBR2050
  • 269 bullseye1's Silver Bullet (TBR2050)
  • 261 speed or not racer tbr2050
  • 261 The DogTBR2050

Right now there's not. But even if there was, if the race ended right now you'd have to split it in half to share it with mermbaidb50. :D

Unfortunately the surprise/mystery prize is not for dead last. The person who wins the mystery prize could end up in last place, but that's not necessarily the case.

I worked on a map previously but it was too much manual work. In fact, I have a map in My Maps labeled TB Race 2050 that has the start and finish lines labeled, but I never could get a satisfactory setup with the TBs.

A BIG THANKS to Novac for all he has done and is doing for this TB Race. We really do not need a map. You can go to each TB and check their individual map. The updated standings are nice to see every so often.
Keep up the good work Novac. Still waiting for the practice date for the PB Plunge. ;D

PS: Above is my opinion and not met to offend anyone.
